November. It's not just a month. It's a promise.
A promise that I will love and hate and second guess myself and probably cry a little before the thirty-day stretch is done.
National Novel Writing Month starts today and, if you aren't familiar with it, it's a beast of a time where participants try to write a 50,000 word novel before the month ends. Author C. Elizabeth Vescio wrote a pretty accurate (and hilarious) blog post about how to keep your creativity going all month long, including Supernatural graphics that will make you laugh, and the different stages each writer goes through during the month.
This is my third year participating and I still know I won't enjoy the entire ride. But, that's all part of it.
Right now, I'm excited as all get out!
But talk to me next week when I'm not where I want to be or struggling with work and my attitude will probably be different.
And then around the third/fourth week I KNOW I'll have fallen even farther.
But, just because the journey may be bumpy doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to it!
So if you're also participating here's to you! Good luck and let's be friends!
