My name is Tyler Anne Snell and I'd like to welcome you to my little author corner of the internet!
I could spend a good minute talking about myself but, instead, I'd like to just throw out the basic facts for this first blog post! (You can read a somewhat long-winded rundown here if you feel so inclined.)
Who I am - The everyday Tyler
I'm smack dab in the middle of my twenties but often get mistaken for someone much younger thanks to my very short height. When I'm not writing, I'm reading and, on the off chance I'm not doing either of those, I'm playing video games or binge watching Netflix. Or, you know, lost in Pinterest. I live in Florida with my fiancé (who is also named Tyler!) and our two mini lions Milo and Harbor. I wouldn't say I'm a cat lady but I wouldn't say I wasn't, either. I also run a lifestyle and inspiration blog (with DIYs!) named Almost There with my beautiful and talented friend Holli Anne!
I am insanely passionate about the character Jack Burton and the movie from which he was born (Big Trouble in Little China), everything Jurassic Park (books and movies) and its character Dr. Alan Grant, Jackie Chan, Studio Ghibli stories and films, and the shows Firefly, Castle, Parks and Recreation, and Veronica Mars. (Remind me to update everyone on how each of these passions will invade my upcoming wedding!)
Who I am - The reader
I'll make more posts about the books and authors I love later but I have to take a moment to tell you a little about the reader side of me.
I love to read a little bit of everything but have admittedly read more YA, cozy mystery, urban fantasy, and Sci-fi than anything else. However, due to my Harlequin contract (!!!), I've started to beef up my romance to-read list! But, I usually seem to be reading at least five books at once so my currently reading is always a mixed bag of fun.
Who I am - The writer
In short, last year I entered the So You Think You Can Write contest and only made it to the second round. Due to finding out about the contest two days after it started, I wasn't able to meet the required word count. However, a lovely Harlequin Intrigue editor named Allison contacted me and asked to resubmit my completed manuscript to her anyways! After a few back and forths and one awesome phone call, Harlequin purchased my first completed novel!
Yet to be titled, this novel is set to release in April 2015!
Being an author is my biggest dream! I will continue to write books (and hopefully have them published!) and will continue to update readers, loved ones, and complete strangers through this site!
Note: For those who have followed Tyler Writes (my first writer's blog) know that it is now private BUT will return later in the year as a street team home.
Now, to end this supposedly mini post I'd like to add in some gifs of the three reactions I had to landing a publishing deal.
