IS THAT CHRIS HEMSWORTH FROM STAR TREK?
That was my first thought when I saw Orion Security's Book One, PRIVATE BODYGUARD for the first time! My second thought was what's up with that sticker invading his forehead land. My third thought was he looks like he's in the cold. Fourth thought? Good.
I may be a new Intrigue author but I still know that sometimes covers and stories don't always get along. However, I really can't find a complaint in any of the covers I've received so far! MANHUNT was glorious, using a scene right out of the book. Even though the book model didn't quite match up with what I originally wanted, in the end I felt it was the best choice. Plus, I've had a lot of people ask if I personally know the man on that cover.
I don't. And, if I did, I probably can't get you his number!
Now, about PRIVATE BODYGUARD's cover...
I feel like I gave the art department kind of a challenge with my setting. Taking place in a small, fictional town in Maine (channeling my love for Stephen King and Haven right there), PRIVATE BODYGUARD's main characters often reference the cold and the general lack of the sunny, burning hot Florida that Braydon and Sophia frequented in my first Intrigue. While that doesn't probably scream "sexy" weather (layers, people, lots of layers) the cold makes for some pretty exciting (and dangerous!) scenes. So, long story short, I'm glad the cover looks cold. Also, I LOVE THE COLOR BLUE SO SUPER PRETTY!
Okay so about my Thor...
Well, I can't even be mad at him. Once the this-is-Chris-Hemsworth reaction wore off I realized that he does favor the actor I modeled Orion Bodyguard Oliver Quinn after. (Yes, I channeled some more of my love for Stephen King and based a character off of Under the Dome's Barbie.)
Basically, they took some of Vogel and decided, "Hey, let's supe him up a little." Though, I would have been just fine had they matched the oh-so-sexy Barbie.
Either way, I'm pretty darn happy for the first cover for Book One in the Orion Security series. It shows me that Oliver Quinn means business and that's something I hope everyone who reads PRIVATE BODYGUARD will enjoy!
